Introduction
Schema markup, also known as structured data, is a way to describe your content so that search engines can better understand what it’s about. It helps improve your website’s SEO and can also provide information for other applications (like Google products like Maps and Search). It’s not essential for your website to use schema markup, but it’s good practice if you have the time or resources.
What is schema.org?
Schema.org is a structured data markup language that you can use to markup your website with relevant information. It’s a collaboration between Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo as well as other companies who want to improve the web by creating a common vocabulary for websites.
You can add schema onto your site in order to make it easier for search engines like Google to understand what your pages are about and serve them up higher in their results when people search for those terms or concepts on Google Search (or other search engines).
How to add schema markup to your website.
The first step to adding schema markup to your website is to get a plugin. There are many different plugins, but we’ll be using Yoast SEO because it’s the most popular and has the best reviews.
Once you’ve installed and activated Yoast SEO, go into its settings by clicking on “Yoast” in your WordPress toolbar (or going directly here: Settings > All in One SEO Pack). Once there, find “HTML sitemaps” under “Content types”. Click on “Yes,” then click Save Changes at the bottom right corner of this page when done.
Now that we have our HTML sitemaps set up correctly on our site, we can add some basic information about ourselves using their toolbox feature! This will generate code for us automatically so we don’t have do anything ourselves!
Types of schema markup.
Schema markup is made up of various types, which can be used individually or in combination. These include:
Product schema – this type of markup allows you to define products and services for sale on your site. You can specify the name and price of a product, along with an image representing it.
Review schema – this type of markup helps Google understand the review content on your website by providing information about who wrote it (if known), when they wrote it and what rating they gave it out of five stars (or whatever system you use). It also provides information on where users can find more reviews from other people who have used that product/service before them so that potential customers know whether there’s enough feedback available before making their choice based purely off one person’s opinion alone!
The benefits of using schema markup.
Schema markup is a way to tell search engines what your website is about, and how people should use it. This can improve your site’s ranking in search results, help users find the information or products they’re looking for more quickly and easily, increase click-through rates (CTR) on those pages, and even drive more traffic to them.
Using schema markup can help improve your business’s SEO, but it’s not essential.
Schema markup is not essential, but it can help.
Schema markup is a way to tell search engines what your website is about and how to rank it in Google. It’s an easy way for you and your business to get better visibility on the Internet.

Now that you know the basics of schema markup and how it can help your business, it’s time to get started!
